YCI Brazil piloted in 2005 at the Marriott properties across the country. Over the last four years many competing hotels including InterContinental, Copacabana Palace, Pestana, Othon and the Grand Hyatt have become involved in the programme. Partners including IDIS (Institute for the Development of Social Investment) have assisted with the development of YCI in Brazil.
